I am interested to find recently that one of Australia's greatest scientist
made this statement a long time ago:
"The resources of the earth must be maintained for the use and enjoyment of
future generations in a measure not less than we now enjoy". - Nobel
Laureate Sir Macfarlane. Burnet 1966 Boyer Lecture
The principles were understood by thinking people long before Bruntland.
Also, what about this one: Naturam expellas furca, tamen usque recurret.
"Drive out nature by force, but she will always return". Horace (born 65
BC, died 8 BC) Epistles
Sad it has taken, or should I say 'Is taking', so long for some but not
enough of the right people to begin to take action. Still a long, very long
way to go.
