Call for Additional Authors: Economics Learning and Teaching Handbook
====================================================
http://www.economics.ltsn.ac.uk/projects/handbook.htm
Closing date: Friday 30th January 2004

The Economics Centre of the Learning and Teaching Support Network
(Economics LTSN) is looking to recruit academic economists to author
additional chapters of the Handbook for Economics Lecturers. The Handbook
is a set of guides to inform and improve the practices of university
teachers of economics. The guides, though self-contained, are grouped under
four section headings of teaching, assessment, course design and evaluation.

The Handbook was launched last year with 11 chapters. The centre is hoping
to add a further 8 chapters on:

* Employability
* Online Discussions and Virtual Classes (authors already allocated)
* Use of the Web (co-author required)
* Students with disabilities
* Group Work/Assessment
* Key Skills
* Plagiarism
* Teaching non-traditional students

You are invited to submit proposals to write up to two guides. Authors will
be paid 1,500 for authoring the intellectual content of each guide (before
tax and national insurance contributions). This work can be done in your
own time and from any location, but it is essential that you work to the
timescales and deadlines detailed. There will be a workshop for authors
which contributors will be strongly encouraged to attend. The major period
of work will be between February and the end of May 2004.

Closing date for applications: Friday 30th January 2004

More information, including an online application form can be found at:
