Educational Technologist (Information Literacy Skills Project) (One year
contract, full time) REF 196
Students at the University of Sussex can access a wide range of
information resources to use in their studies - ranging from books to
specialist electronic databases.
The Information Literacy Skills Project - a collaboration between the
University Library, a number of lecturers and the Teaching and Learning
Development Unit (TLDU) - aims to create a range of Web-based tutorials
that will help students develop skills in choosing, accessing and
evaluating these information resources.
As Educational Technologist, you will play the central role in this
project. You will work with Library, academic and TLDU staff to agree
learning outcomes, assessment methods and content of the tutorials. You
will develop, pilot and optimise the tutorials - adapting materials
available externally and working with Web designers and technical staff
as appropriate.
The following are essential for this post: a University degree; at least
one year's experience of creating, or supporting the creation of,
educational materials for adult learners; at least one year's experience
of using, or supporting the use of, IT in teaching; excellent IT user
skills including an advanced knowledge of HTML and at least one Web
publishing software package. Experience of working in a library or
information unit, or a qualification in library and information studies,
would be an advantage.
Closing date: Friday May 9 2003.
Please note that interviews will be held on Friday May 23.
