We are (still) running Perception 2.5 and Blackboard 5.5.
When exporting a Blackboard question pool via Control Panel>Pool
Manager>Export Pool, you get a zip-file containing the images which are
referred to in the questions, and also a *.dat file. This *.dat file holds
an xml encoding of the questions of the exported pool. However this xml
format is not compliant to a standard such as QTI.
To fix the problem we developed an XSLT stylesheet which transforms
Blackboard's xml encoding of the questions into a qml encoding which can
easily be imported in Perception 2.5, and we are about to finish an XSLT
stylesheet to transform exported question pools into QTI for import in
Perception3. (We intend to run Perception3 from next academic year onwards)
We have embedded this xslt process in a little interactive perl script which
adjusts path settings for image files.
