WINDRUSH FOUNDATION AWARDS
Windrush Foundation is running a campaign to find London's African-Caribbean
pupils who have excelled at their GCSE examination in Summer 2002. You
should nominate pupils who received at least six GCSE at Grade B or better.
The two winners (a boy and a girl with the best results) will receive the
'Young Excellence in Education Award' at the Celebration on 14 June.
Nominations for this Award should show the nominee's name, address,
telephone number, GCSE grades, the name of the school, and a photocopy of
the GCSE grades.
Also, we wish to acknowledge African-Caribbean led church organisations and
individuals who provide voluntary services to the community. You should
nominate organisations and individuals who have positively affected people's
lives over the years. The two winners (an organisation and an individual)
will receive the 'Outstanding Service to the Community' Award. Nominations
should show the name of the organisation or the individual, their address,
telephone number, and the details of the service. Details must not exceed
200 words.

CLOSING DATE: 1 June 2003
The Awards will be presented at their annual Celebration Event on Saturday
14 June at Logan Hall, University of London, 20 Bedford Way, London WC1 at
7pm. Doors open from 6.45pm.
Contributors include Linton Kwesi Johnson, Felicity Ethnic, Ebony Steel
Band, Alexander D Great, London Adventist Chorale, Sam King, MBE (a Windrush
veteran), Rudolph Walker, Burt Caesar, and The Mayor of Camden.
