The first International Textile Design and Engineering Conference (INTEDEC
2003) will be held on the 22nd - 24th September 2003, in Heriot-Watt
University, Edinburgh.
The theme of the conference is "Fibrous Assemblies at the Design and
Engineering Interface", with international speakers presenting papers in
the following topics:
- 3D modelling, simulation and visualisation of fabrics and garments
- 3D shaping of fibrous materials
- Intelligent, smart and interactive textiles for specialist applications
- Using science and technology in designing new textiles
- Engineering the mechanics of fibrous assemblies
- Fibrous assemblies for biomedical applications
- Automated handling, manipulation and processing of fibrous assemblies
- Scientific aspects of fibres, yarns and fabrics
- Garment manufacture and clothing comfort
- Textile management systems in global markets
- Colouration, dyeing and printing.
