Here at Luton, we are developing programmes in contemporary fine art
and illustration to run from Oct 2003. Up to now we have
concentrated on design and architecture.
We currently take DAAI and Art Abstracts. I have no experience of
Artbibliographies Modern but feel it is something we should be
considering.
Art Abstracts has come up for renewal and so this is a good time for
reflection.
Could any of you more experienced art librarians offer me any
thoughts on these databases please? e.g if I have to choose between
Art Abstracts and ABM which would be the most supportive for
contemporary art? How user friendly is ABM?
Also could you give me a rough idea of the annual subs. I know I can
go to CSA for a quote but I prefer not to show interest to any sales
reps at this early stage.
Any help, thoughts etc would be really appreciated.
Many thanks and Happy New Year.
