Code of Practice on Records Management and Generic Model Action Plan
The Code of Practice on Records Management under section 61 of the Freedom
of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 has now been issued by Scottish
Ministers and is available on the Scottish Executive's website at:
http://www.scotland.gov.uk/about/FCSD/MCG-NW/00018022/Codes.aspx
The Keeper of the Records of Scotland has also finalised and issued a
generic Model Action Plan to assist authorities in developing records
management arrangements compliant with the Code. This is available on the
National Archives of Scotland website at: http://www.nas.gov.uk/foi.htm
Warm thanks and acknowledgements are due to the members of the Freedom of
Information Implementation Group sub-group on records management, who
produced the drafts of these two documents.
Sectoral Model Action Plans
Various sectors are currently working to adapt the generic MAP so that
sector-specific Model Action Plans can be produced. If those involved
with this work feel that it would be helpful, NAS would be very happy to
post their contact details onto our website alongside the generic MAP, so
that anyone wanting to find out what is happening in their sector is
directed to the relevant individuals.
Once sectoral MAPs are finalised and published, we would also be delighted
to add links through to these documents from the NAS webpage hosting the
generic MAP.
Please send any contact details/links to [log in to unmask]
