I know advocating extra Latin is going to sound strange coming from me,
especially to anyone I was on the course with (Liverpool 1993-4 - Hi everyone!)
but as a profession should we consider the fate of uncatalgued Latin documents?
With courses no longer requiring Latin as it's less common in schools etc and
generally moving towards a more modular format are we heading towards a time
in the not too distant future when the skills no longer exist to catalogue
them and their meaning will be lost forever?
Should we be looking at a national project to catalogue all Latin documents to
ensure that their meaning is preserved for the future - perhaps another
a2a bid called LATCAT? I know Latin deeds are generally not sexy but are a vital
part of our heritage etc.
Otherwise, I understand they make very nice lampshades...
Thoughts anyone?

watching 'Restoration' and not an offer to catalogue Latin deeds)
