CATALOGUE PROJECT
The Waterways Trust, with record office partners, and supported by
the Heritage Lottery Fund, is creating a new web-accessible virtual
archive catalogue to British Waterways archives, which are
dispersed around the country.
We have a new vacancy for an enthusiastic senior team
member, keen to apply and develop their skills and experience
SENIOR PROJECT ARCHIVIST
To £24,000 and Completion bonus + personal
development budget + final salary pension
Secondment considered. Available immediately until March 2005
You will be responsible for supervising the retro-converting, retro-
cataloguing and indexing of these C18th - C20th archives to agreed
standards and deadlines. Based at the Boat Museum, Ellesmere Port,
Cheshire, but with frequent travel to participating record offices, your role
will be key to bringing this innovative project to completion.
A qualified archivist, you offer:
· Excellent cataloguing skills, with automated cataloguing experience
· Informed knowledge of archival cataloguing standards
· Excellent motivational and supervisory skills
· Flexibility, adaptability, and results-orientation
· Car driver essential
