5th Practical Issues in Clinical Research Course
June 9th-11th 2003
Organised by the Clinical Trials and Evaluation Unit, Royal Brompton &
Harefield NHS Trust
The aim of this three-day course is to provide a comprehensive review of
the methodology involved in the design and conduct of clinical
research. The course will comprise lectures and workshops on how to
design, set up and run a research project including key statistical
issues. Days 1 and 2 will form a stand-alone introductory course aimed at
all health professionals involved in clinical research or about to embark
on a study. Day 3 will be more advanced and aimed at those who already
have some experience of clinical research and wish to understand more
challenging issues including advanced statistical concepts. Delegates may
wish to attend the introductory course only or to attend the introductory
and the advanced course consecutively. We have invited expert speakers to
join the faculty of this course that is now into its 5th year. Each
afternoon of the course will have small group workshops to explore
statistical and methodological issues in some detail.
