Hello all,
We managed to get overall response rates of 92.4% on ethnicity and
93.4% on disability before our audit last autumn. This was after two
info-gathering drives during the previous year. Although the overall
percentage of people who didn't provide such information is in single
figures, it's higher in certain groups of staff than others, so
further action is required. We're taking this shortly in Round 3!
Like Barbara at Durham, we're aware, anecdotally, that there are more
people with disabilities than monitoring figures suggest ( a little
over 1%), so we're hoping our actions produce improved returns. These
include putting articles in the staff journal in the weeks leading up
to Round 3, and we're also looking at putting more explanatory
information on the forms themselves.
