It has been mooted that the duties on local authorities will include a
requirement to develop a Disability Equality Scheme similar to that of the
Race Relations Act. This, in my opinion, is not before time.

Thanks Dave for locating the correct address for the Bill -
anyone
managed to read it yet and unpack the implications?

                The contents list is:

                1 Discriminatory advertisements
                2 Group insurance
3 Application of sections 19 to 21 of the 1995 Act to
transport vehicles
                4 Discrimination by public authorities
                5 Private clubs etc.
6 Discrimination in relation to letting of premises
7 Power to modify or end small dwellings exemption
                8 Duties of public authorities
                9 Codes of practice
10 Generalisation of section 56 of the 1995 Act in relation
to Part 3
                claims
                11 Police
                12 Meaning of disability
                13 Minor and consequential amendments
14 Short title, interpretation, commencement and extent

So there certainly seems to be some relevant sections.

                Marcus
