Do we have any medieval evidence for meachers? As far as I can see, it's
not in the MED. It must be an original byname. It would be interesting to
see if medieval chroniclers record the activities of meachers in Merrie
England or on the crusade. I think one migt be mentioned in Scott's novel,
Count Robert of Paris.
