Today, the governor of Oregon is giving an official apology to
all those sterilized under eugenics policies in Oregon.
Coincidentally, the Ragged Edge has a related "lost disability classic"
online. It's an account written in 1932 by an inmate of Eastern State
Hospital in Oklahoma. The chapter offered concerns the passage
of Oklahoma's sterilization law. It's the only account I've come across
like it - written by a person potentially impacted by the law at the
time of the law's passage.
