We are looking for a curatorial assistant to join the ADS technical
team. The post arises from the need to accession data arising from a
number of major archaeological projects which are to be deposited with
ADS, and to develop user interfaces. The postholder will share the ADS
vision of making digital data accessible to the archaeological community
and will wish to make a major contribution to the future of electronic
publication and archiving in archaeology. The post will involve
accessioning, mounting, and indexing of data collections, validation of
data and conversion into preferred formats; curation and migration of
collections; design and development of user interfaces; discussion and
data audits with data depositors.
You will need a good first degree in archaeology and a postgraduate
qualification in archaeological computing or equivalent experience in an
archaeological computing environment. You will be proficient in the
manipulation of archaeological data in a variety of formats, including
text, databases, CAD, GIS and VR, and have excellent HTML and web design
skills. You should have knowledge or experience of post-excavation and
publication of archaeological fieldwork.
Salary will be within the range œ17,416 - 18,984GBP per annum and the
post is a full-time (36.5 hours per week) fixed term appointment for 12
months. Job share is a possibility.
