Peter
this sounds very interesting.
I am wondering if you are working with the work that has already been
done in this area or if you are just now wondering what has been done?
I have completed my report on the workshop we had in Florence and
that should go up on the dublincore.org web site in the next couple
of days. In general, it is about trying to be organised so that we
can all do the work you are talking about, but perhaps a little more
slowly so that we reach consensus as we go.
You know, of course, that there are already a number of such tools
available for what you are doing? Information about them and
guidelines for developing such tools are provided by W3C WAI (see
http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/. Here, at DCMI, we are interested in the
metadata that those tools should generate, and it is that about which
we'd like to reach consensus.
In the meantime, I have put the report up on my website for quick
access (http://www.OZeWAI.org/DC2002/workshop-20021017.html) - you
and others might like to have a look.
I think we will all be very interested in your progress, please keep
us in the loop!
