Conference Announcement and Call for Papers
Delivering Employability
The Diversity of Approaches in Higher Education
9th April 2003
at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston
in collaboration with the Enhancing Student Employability Co-ordination Team (ESECT)
"Employability" or more specifically 'enhancing student employability' is now very high on the national agenda and the rationale for this from Government, employers and the education sector is already well documented. A recent survey commissioned by the LTSN has shown that this employability agenda is embraced and delivered by the higher education sector in a variety of imaginative and innovative ways.
The conference will seek to explore this diversity and in particular aims to:
- Explore the context of the current focus of employability in HEI's
- Examine the variety of ways HEI's are seeking to enhance students employability
- Share experiences in the sector and highlight good practice
- Evaluate progress and seek to inform future developments
Who should attend
This conference will be of interest to all staff engaged in the Higher Education Sector with an interest in student employability including senior managers, policymakers, academics, careers advisers, placement officers, lecturers, Volunteer Co-ordinators, student developers. Graduate recruiters, Government Agencies, training providers and FE staff with responsibility for HE provision may also be interested.
