John
you'll get an idea of some of the subtle and not so subtle differences
between several software on your list - and how they may affect the way you
work, if you attend any of the Free 'Software Planning' seminars which we
(at the CAQDAS Networking Project) plan to hold all over the UK over the
next 4 years.
The first happens at Surrey University, Guildford on 6 November 2002
the next happens at York University on 4 December 2002 (about to be
publicised in more detail).
Of course if you are not lucky enough to live on the sceptered isle this may
present a problem for you (difficult to tell from your mail)
...just thought I'd mention it.
see abstract and more information about other free seminars
http://caqdas.soc.surrey.ac.uk/courses
(we also preview and showcase new softwares) - the next - Qualrus with Ed
Brent the developer on 26th and 27th of November, in London, (two similar
events on each day)
the one after that will probably be in May 2003 from QSR the developers of
Nvivo.
cheers
Ann Lewins

Subject: Qual Software Features
> Hello
>
> I am putting together some information about qualitative software. What
I am needing are the special features that make different qual software
packages unique. I have tried reading the descriptions of the software, but
they pretty much all read alike.

> Information from personal experience would be greatly appreciated or if
anyone know of a site or document that has the special features of each
software spelled out that would be great.

> Below is my initial list of software that I have been researching. If
there are any others that you feel I should look at, please let me know.
