medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear Colleagues,
I am pursuing late medieval examples of sermons (or live preaching) in a
homiletic or expository style, rather than the more prominent (or at
least visible) thematic or modern style. Sometimes visitation records
distinguish between questions about whether the priest preaches sermons
and whether he explains the gospel. If any of you have noted examples of
this, I'd be delighted to hear from you. Likewise, if you have examples
recorded in chonicles or other sources that reflect such a practice, I'd
be much obliged.
Many thanks.
Anne Thayer
