italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Dear List Members:
//////////////////CALL FOR PAPERS///////////////////////////
It is my privilege to announce the 56th Kentucky Foreign Language
Conference, to be held 24-26 April 2003 at the University of Kentucky, in
Lexington, a very beautiful area known as the "Horse Capital of the World."
This is a very well-established foreign language conference with nearly 500
papers presented annually. Last spring we had an exciting and stimulating
Italian division, which I hope will increase in size and scope in the
future. I therefore invite you, your colleagues, graduate students and any
interested Italianists to consider submitting a paper proposal or to
organize a session.
Topics may include pedagogy, linguistics, literature of any century, film,
cultural studies, gender studies, etc. Interdisciplinary papers are always
welcome.
The theme of this year's conference is BORDER CROSSINGS: Translating Text,
Deed and Image; Gender and Ethnicity across Cultures; Transculturalism;
Cross-Media Translations. Although papers relating to this theme are
encouraged, all proposed abstracts and sessions will be considered. The
Call for Papers has just been mailed to many addresses, and is viewable on
our website: www.uky.edu/AS/KFLC/callforpapers.htm anytime.
Proposals for papers or sessions on Italian topics may be sent to me by
email ([log in to unmask]) or FAX (859) 257-3743 to my attention. Deadline
for submissions is 1 November.
Please feel free to forward this message to interested colleagues.
