But my point is that most of us will probably have broadband in the
not-too-distant future, and lack of diskspace is hardly a valid argument
against HTML these days. I'm not particularly bothered what I use for emails
most of the time, I was just interested in why there seemed to be so much
resistance to "rich text" formatting.

Yes, another brilliant advantage of broadband, it updates automatically "in
the background" at frequent intervals. But if you are seriously considering
downloading big files, including software updates, or using multimedia, in
lieu of radio and television, then broadband's hard to beat. There's a lot
of good stuff out there that I didn't even bother trying when I was on 56K;
it was too painful! But rather like driving a fast car, once you get used to
it, it's dammed difficult to go back...
