Dear John,
The title and the first line are not listed in The Readers' Guide. Having recently read through the 1234 or so items listed there, the text rings no bells. Of course, the Verse was to have a second volume, we understand, but this does not seem RK to me, except in the overall didactic form of "If".
This piece reads as a translation, for example: "nicely" on line 10 is an odd choice, (though some of the lines are memorable as they are).
On line 27, "son of sacrifice" is from the Hebrew tradition - the Dhabihullah, I think. This links with "And go to the ennet" perhaps? Should we be looking at a translation from Hebrew?
Incidentally, at least one of the other pieces on this site seems to be attributed incorrectly.
Regards,
John
