medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear colleagues,
I'm forwarding this to the list on behalf of John McChesney-Young, who is having temporary problems posting to the list.
Best wishes,
George

Stephen A. Allen posted an excellent collection of links, including:
>New Advent (translations of many writings of the fathers of
>the Church):
At least when I last checked, the New Advent site includes the texts of the
patristic documents from the Ante-Nicene and Nicene and Post-Nicene
Christian Fathers set *without* introductions or notes. The Christian
Classics Ethereal Library has the same documents, but with the additional
text - dated, of course, but often still very useful.
http://ccel.org/fathers2/
The CCEL includes many other writings which might be of interest; see:
http://ccel.org/index/classics.html
Besides Internet access, the entire library is available on a CD-ROM (which
I've never seen) for the absurdly low price of USD29.
I don't think that the Ecole Initiative has been mentioned yet either.
>The Early Church On-Line Encyclopedia (Ecole)
>Initiative is a cooperative effort on the part of
>scholars across the internet to establish a
>hypertext encyclopedia of early Church history
>(to the Reformation) on the World-Wide Web.

And for an excellent site devoted to links to resources for scholarly
Biblical study:

(formerly at: http://www.hivolda.no/asf/kkf/rel-stud.html)
