Then I'm afraid we differ. In order to pursue clarity on one front (in
this case, the meaning of a specific statement having to do with liturgical
calendars) it is often tactically advisable to set other issues aside, no
matter how closely related or intrinsically important they may be. In my
lexicon (and, in my experience, in that of many others), "to leave aside"
is not synonymous with "to dismiss".

Sometimes the connections between lives and popular devotion are very
close. The veneration of such physician-saints as Antiochus of the Sulcis
or Cyprian of Calamizzi seems to me to have a lot to do with the fact that
they were, or were said to be, healers.
