Hi
I've just joined the list again after a years break and was wondering whether anyone could help. I'm currently a PhD student at Northumbria University in Newcastle studying with John Swain and Maureen Gillman looking at the sexual abuse of disabled children using the narratives of adult survivors. As you will appreciate this is a much under researched subject and despite the ethical challenges that it holds, warrants some attention. I'm an ex Social Worker, having spent many years working in child protection, and on a personal level am a disabled mother of a disabled child, so believe I have a fair grasp of the issues at stake here. I'm at the stage of advertising for participants and amongst others have contacted; Disability Now, Disability View, New Beacon, BCODP to circulate to their mailing list, Winvisable, RESPOND, VOICE UK, plus a number of local organisations in York and wondered whether anybody had any other suggestions.
Thanks in advance
Martina
