Position: Project Manager – Ecology
Location: Avon
Salary: £Competitive
Our client, a UK based specialist ecological consultancy, is urgently
looking to recruit project manager-level ecologists to join its existing
team within a pleasant Westcountry location. With a relevant first degree
in Environmental Biology (or similar) you will have a minimum of 4 years
experience post-graduation, with at least 2 years in a project management
capacity; covering all aspects from tendering, quotations, budget
management, invoicing through to final report preparation. A broad
experience of various specialisms within ecology is required, including
Baseline Surveying, Phase 2 Habitat Surveying, NVC, Impact Assessment,
Mitigation, along with experience of Scoping, planning and producing first
class reports. Candidates will also be required to have at least one area
of specialism, along with a range of excellent identification and
monitoring skills covering a wide range of habitats, plants and animals
at “further studies” level. Candidates will also be expected to have held
at least one English Nature license, along with familiarity with DEFRA
licensing; and be fully competent with EIA’s and ES’s. The role will form
a key point of contact with both clients, junior consultants and ground
workers, therefore excellent interpersonal, communication and staff
management skills are essential in order to successfully manage projects
from an initial tendering stage through to completion; and to provide
training, mentoring and continued professional development to junior staff.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded
consultancy with the opportunity to work on an exciting range of projects.
Expectations will be high, but the rewards and opportunities for career
progression will be excellent.
