Applications are invited for two new Fellowships, endowed by the Friends of
the Institute of Germanic Studies, London
THE FREDERICK NORMAN FELLOWSHIP
Tenable in the autumn term of 2002, the Frederick Norman Fellowship is
designed to enable a British Germanist to conduct research at the Institute
in the area of medieval motifs in modern German literature.
The Fellowship is open to post-doctoral applicants based at a British
university, and may not be held concurrently with another fellowship or
award.
The Fellowship is endowed with £1,500 for a period not exceeding one month
and is intended to assist with living and other incidental expenses. No
additional costs can be covered.
TENURE: One month
FUNDING: £1,500

THE FRIEDRICH GUNDOLF FELLOWSHIP
Tenable in the autumn term of 2002, the Friedrich Gundolf Fellowship is open
to Germanists working in the field of Anglo-German literary relations from
the eighteenth century to the present day. The Fellowship is available to
post-doctoral applicants with a relevant publications record wishing to
spend up to a month at the Institute to conduct research in this particular
area. The Fellowship may not be held concurrently with another fellowship or
award.
The Gundolf Fellowship is endowed with £1,000 for a period not exceeding one
month and is intended to assist with living and other incidental expenses.
No additional costs can be covered.
