European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) 2002, September 25 to 28
We are very pleased to announce the 5th European Health Forum Gastein "Common Challenges For Health & Care" 25th to 28th September 2002 in Bad Hofgastein, Salzburg, Austria.
Lead by EU Commissioner David Byrne the EHFG is a high level discussion platform for leading actors in European health policy offering excellent opportunities for exchange of experience and networking. With its outstanding composition of delegates it creates an unique network in Europe. The participants are decision-makers and experts of international and European institutions and of all European countries´ politics & administration, business & industry, science & academia and patient groups.
Selected core issues in European health policy to be addressed at the EHFG 2002 include the Future of European Health Systems, Quality of Health Care, Inequalities in Health, Nutrition and Food Policy and Public Health Research within the 6th EC Research Framework Programme. These issues will be addressed in plenary and parallel forum sessions of which two will be hosted by the European Commission. The European Observatory on Health Care Systems, the World Bank, and the European Investment Bank will organise a number of workshops on Health and Financing issues. Other workshops will address Cross Border Care, Social Dialogue in the Hospital Sector and Food Policy.

Interpretation services in English, German and French are available for the plenary and three of five parallel forum sessions. Italian and Spanish will be available subject to sufficient demand.
