medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Depends how far you want to travel....
York Minster archives are very worth a visit. Louise
Hampson is the archivist..just say I sent you and
she'll expect to have to drag out the most obscure
stuff they've got. Take your own cotton gloves if
you've got any.
Also, Durham Cathedral Library and Treasury, while a
lot smaller, is very good. Roger Norris is the guy to
talk to there...in his part of the exhibition they
have a MS Breviary in a glass case, so it's only
viewable at one opening....the funny thing is,
whenever I've been it always seemed to be open at the
feast of the day.
Cheers
Rob
