Dear HBSMR users
a couple of points from our perspective:
- Shrewsbury's silver lining...
The HBSMR prioritising discussion took up a lot of meeting time - that's because there was LOTS to discuss as we start to move towards the next major release. Isn't this the main point of the meetings? The fact that virtually all points were covered meant the meeting was a good one for the HBSMR product and users. I hope you'll forgive me and Sarah if we could have done this more efficiently - we're learning !
- Possible improvements for next meeting...
The meetings need to focus on the bigger issues, with the minor ones being ratified as quickly as possible.
As Jim said, I am investigating how we could make all Requests/Issues visible on our web site, with estimates of complexity, for consideration well in advance of meetings. When the Requests go into the Newsletter before the meetings, we could then group them into major issues for discussion, and those that we think are minor/uncontentious. Users could of course pick up on any of the latter at the meeting too if they wish.
Also we will try to ensure that there is sufficient communication between the User Group, exeGesIS SDM and EH so that the agenda gives sufficient time to the main business items.
Best wishes
Crispin

Subject: HBMSR - User Group meeting structure
I have attached a discussion note on the possible structure of future
meetings, for consideration of HBSMR users.
I've sent this out here because it needs to be discussed here. Apologies to
other forum members. Just delete this.
HBMSR users: the attached is a bit "stream of consciousness" in structure,
but hopefully will address concerns and promote discussion. Please take
part in the discussion - it needs your input.
Jim
