Dear all
Following the decision to wind up the International Association of
Structural and Tectonic Geologists there's been a healthy increase in
the Geo-tectonics membership. We now number around 950. I'd like
welcome the 50 or so new members who've joined in the last couple
of months and hope that you'll find the discussions on the list both
enjoyable and useful. Traffic has been moderate over the last couple
of months but if you wish to get a flavour of some past discussions
do visit the Geo-tectonics home page at -
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/geo-tectonics.html
In particular the archives for March 2002 make interesting reading.
This influx of new members has prompted me to look at the welcome
message that is sent out when a new membership is processed. I've
now significantly updated it and I recommend all members, new and
old to have a look at the new version. I've placed a copy of it in MS
Word format in the list's file area. This could be just the opportunity
you need to find out how easy it is to download files from the list.
Go to the lists home page (address above) and click the 'Files
associated with your list' link. It really is very simple. The new
introductory message is in the file tsgintro.doc.
For those of you in the northern hemisphere, have a really enjoyable
summer!
Cheers
John Whalley
