Dear all,
I'm passing on details of a guide to information sources on creating
reusable materials, compiled by Gayle Calverly, Resources and Technology
Advisor at the Distributed Learning centre at the University of Manchester.
The guide is aimed at the local projects that the University of Manchester
run for developing distributed course material, and points to the relevant
information sources available from the wider sector. It is meant to be
basic and encourage use of the material already produced by the EC and
Metadata SIGs for the beginning user.
Gayle has invited comments, and her contact details are:

I have copied the message that Gayle sent out describing her guide below:
Hi all,
Here is the first version of a short guide to information sources on
Creating Reusable Materials. I have produced this with a view to
supporting projects, to sit alongside our current user materials. It
references a range of materials that have been recently developed
and made available by the wider community, which in some
instances have been amended to reflect our local needs. The
introduction is basic and brief as most information needed is in the
sources. The guide has been OK'd by the co-ordinator of the CETIS
Educational Content Interest group. Comments welcome.
Gayle
