NCI and other NIH Institutes have just released a new RFA to support
Centers for Population Health and Health Disparities. This is a major
new effort on the part of the NIH (the National Institute of
Environmental Health Sciences, the National Cancer Institute, the
National Institute on Aging, and the Office of Behavioral and Social
Sciences Research) to support innovative, interdisciplinary research on
the social determinants of disease.
A key objective is to generate a research program (including
methodological research) that embraces the concept of 'multiple levels
of analysis' in health sciences to examine phenomena operating at the
social/environmental, behavioral/psychological, and biological (organ
system, cellular, and molecular) levels leading to health disparities in
domestic populations.

Though foreign organizations are not eligible to apply for this program,
an international partnership with a lead domestic institution could be
funded.
