The Journal has an extensive reviews section focusing on a wide range of
books in an interdisciplinary social science context. Apart from focusing
on a particular theme (see below for forthcoming themes), each issue aims
to give space to a critical, non-Eurocentric debate about Area Studies
theory and practice, and this policy is reflected in the reviews section.
In your critical reading of books for review, you are encouraged to
question the hegemonic order from a variety of different and radical
perspectives.
For information about our editorial policy, past and future issues, please
visit our Journal web-site

Deadlines for reviews are September 2002 (for Issue II/2002) or January
2003 (for Issue I/2003). Reviews are usually between 600-800 words.
The next issues planned will include general area studies articles but also
focus on specific themes:
· Crisis of Area Studies? (II/2002)
· Travel and Migration (I/2003)
· Generations (II/2003)
· Post-Colonialism (I/2004)
If you are interested in reviewing any of the books, could you please

I would also be grateful if you could pass this list on to colleagues
working in the area.
With many thanks in advance,
Yours,
