Several reasons for the mix of threading:
1) Changing will break some RPM dependencies, and even hardcoded
library dependencies because the filenames are different.
2) The middleware WP's have different opinions / requirements about
threaded versions.
3) I think the original lists were produced by a "suck it and
see" process...
