There's a new version of NUD*IST! QSR announced N6 on Thursday afternoon
(GMT) at the third international conference at the Institute of
Education at the University of London on Strategies with QSR software.
If you are in London, come and see it at the CAQDAS day with Tom and Lyn
Richards next Monday (11th Feb) at the Tavistock Institute. Details from
Ann Lewins [log in to unmask] or

N6, the sixth version of the NUD*IST software, will be available at the
end of March 2002. Details and illustrations of the new version are on
the website, and orders for new licenses or upgrades from earlier
versions are being taken now. Users who purchased a N5 product
maintenance agreement will receive an upgrade to N6 for free.
Refer to our web site at: www.qsrinternational.com where you can link to
the Products page for lots more information and the Buy Now page for
pricing details.
This latest version of NUD*IST continues a software line designed for
rapid processing of qualitative data and accurate and subtle seeking of
patterns and explanations. N6 has the robust, work-horse capacity of
N4, the pragmatic, responsive interface of N5 and now enhanced support
for automation of clerical tasks and handling of data and displays of
results.
- Create and run Command Files rapidly in a new Command Assistant
window, without errors and without having to write them in the command
language. Mechanical, repetitive tasks will take far less time. Special
automated construction of command files is provided for coding cases or
questionnaires, checking coder reliability and copying a node structure
- Flexibly "edit-while-you-code" with new document management features
including ability to duplicate and split documents, cut copy and paste
text in the Document Browser and append one project document to another.
- Move more swiftly to more convincing results with streamlined export
features and node reporting functions including ability to make a batch
report on all the nodes below a particular node.
- The NUD*IST software, and its sister, NVivo, uniquely create and
display matrices showing patterns of coding "crosstabulations". Now
they show in a live matrix, which allows you to call up all the text
that belongs in any cell. You can specify exactly what you want to
export.
N6 STUDENT VERSION
Teachers and students have requested a fully-fledged limited version at
budget price. N6 will shortly be available in a student version. It
offers all the features of the full version, for those who want
short-term access to learn in a limited project. N6 Student offers a
year's license at a very affordable price. It has a 50 node limit and
projects won't merge if saved in N6 Student. If you are teaching with
our software, contact [log in to unmask] for materials and information.
cheers,
