Division of Physiotherapy, School of Health Professions
Proposed MSc in Rehabilitation Science (Accelerated)
The School of Healthcare Professions in the Faculty of Health at the
University of Brighton is currently developing an accelerated route to a
qualification in physiotherapy for graduates.
The Course will be full time over two years, consisting of three 15 week
semesters per year. Students will be eligible for an NHS bursary and on
graduation will be eligible for a license to practice physiotherapy.
Applicants will need to have a first degree at 2:1 level in biological,
sports or behavioural science or some other health professional degree.
Additionally candidates will be expected to have an understanding of the
profession of physiotherapy and a commitment to the NHS.
Students will take a number of university-based modules plus 1000 hours of
clinical education work-based modules, in addition to completing a research
project. There will be 20 places available initially.
The Course is expected to commence in the Spring of 2003, (subject to
validation by the University of Brighton, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
and Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine).
No more information is available at present. If development proceeds
according to plan, selection interviews will commence in autumn 2002. If you
wish to express an interest in this Course please email Dr Lesley Dawson at
