medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear Brenda!
I sent this comment to the list yesterday, bit it didn't arrive. So I'll
repeat:
The Easter stile - stilus Gallicus - was established in the Francia during
the reign of Philipp I. (1060-1108), but it seems that Brittany continued to
use the stilus Delfinalis (i. e. style de Noel) up to the 13th century, as
well as Aquitania, Auvergne, Angoumois and Limousin. As regards Anjou
(neighbouring Saumur), see:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/saumur-jadis/methode/temps.htm
So Quadragesima Sunday in Brittany seems to be February 17, 1157
