        ** Call for Papers **

International Symposium of Web Graphics and Visualization
        http://www.graphicslink.demon.co.uk/IV02/WGV.htm
        IV02-WGV

        July 10-12, 2002. London, UK
The 6th International Conference on Information Visualization

Symposium Chair: Jonathan C. Roberts, University of Kent, UK
        Email: [log in to unmask]

Aims and Scope

The web and its related technologies have rapidly grown over the last
ten years, and are becoming used as part of our everyday activities.
Through its maturing we have seen a explosion of different formats,
standards, tools and diverse applications. Such a communication
infrastructure brings together people who are geographically located in
faraway places and provides a large varied information space. Thus,
technologies and techniques that generate, publish and exchange
graphics and visualizations over the web are important in communicating
interpretations, ideas, methods and results, and understanding the
web-space itself. Specifically Web Graphics and Web Visualisation
techniques enable users to better communicate information and
understand the workings of the web.

This conference aims to bring together practitioners, developers and
researchers who are using and investigating new methods of computer
graphics and visualization. The conference is particularly interested
in graphics and visualization technologies applied to the web including
methods that use the web as a publication medium and/or as an
information source for visualization.

Papers presenting original research with the theme of "Web Graphics
and Visualisation" are being sought. Suggested topics include
(but are not limited to):

o Web-based visualization applications and tools
o Information visualization of the web and/or web-based data
o Web visualization models, formats, standards and their use
o Web based Remote and collaborative visualization
o Parallel and distributed methods/environments
o Fundamental algorithms
o Interaction techniques
o Data aspects for web visualization
o Evaluation of web visualizations
