Can anyone help me with references to material on Deaf children and
resistance to being taught a formal/national sign language? I'm
specifically thinking in terms of 'resistance to' rather than 'difficulties
with' learning, although I am looking at the latter term as well. Whilst
doing my research in the Philippines many Deaf people, both young and old,
told me about their experiences in education using such terms. Many
teachers of Deaf children also shared this view.
Any help is much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Matthew
