Okay, theory isn't dead and students are interested in theory.
So, how's about some thoughts and references on periods of decentralization in
complex societies? Is decentralization different from collapse? Is the
difference quantitative rather than qualitative? Are they fundamentally
different things?
Has anybody recently (last 2-3 years) really tried to theorize this/these
processes? Who's doing so without referring to some sort of ecological
disaster?
Any and all thoughts would be very helpful and appreciated!
