Is your library involved in an innovative lifelong learning initiative? Do
you offer people who wouldn't normally take up learning a chance to learn?
During the early part of 2002, to launch 'Libraries and lifelong learning: a
strategy 2002 -2204', The Library Association will be hosting an event in
each of the English regions and the three nation states. The events are aimed
at attracting individuals in organisations that have an impact on the ability
to deliver quality lifelong learning activities in libraries in all sectors -
organisations such as local learning partnerships, members of local councils,
members of local Learning and Skills Councils, important local businesses,
Vice Chancellors of universities, local college Principals etc. etc.
I would like to compile a set of case studies to illustrate to people outside
the library world the broad (and successful) range of activities that
libraries are involved in. If you would like to send me the details of
anything you are proud of - however big or small, it all counts - I would be
very grateful. An email or half a page of A4 text (as an attachment) directed
to me at the email address below would be much appreciated.
Thanking you in anticipation
