Derek Wynne, one of the two honorary book review editors for
Sociological Research Online, sadly and unexpected died on 14 January
of a heart attack. He had been a supportive and committed review editor
for the journal for nearly three years. We shall miss him.
The journal has now to find a replacement review editor. The work
involves assigning the journals' 'books for review' to potential
reviewers, drawn from the international sociological community. The
journal's publishing assistant provides administrative support. The
appointment is for three years. It provides unequalled opportunities to
develop contacts with sociologists around the world, to see what is
being published in sociology, and to influence and develop the policy of
this premier electronic journal.
Candidates need to have ready access to email and the World Wide Web.
Nicola Green will be continuing as the other book review editor and
further details can be obtained from her ([log in to unmask]).
Applications for the post, in the form of a brief CV indicating areas of
expertise, knowledge of the sociological community and any previous
experience, should be sent by email to <[log in to unmask]>.
Closing Date : 1 March 2002.
