CENTER FOR POLICY STUDIES RESEARCH FELLOW
Applications are invited for a full-time position at
the Center for Policy Studies (CPS) at the Central
European University, Budapest. Central European
University (CEU) is an internationally recognized
institution of post-graduate education in social
sciences and humanities. CEU seeks to contribute to
the development of open societies in Central and
Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union by
promoting a system of education in which ideas are
creatively, critically, and comparatively examined.
The Center for Policy Studies is dedicated to
developing the policy implication of research and
generally extending the analysis and dissemination of
policy discussions and proposals. The CPS seeks to
establish itself as an internationally recognized
center with a special commitment to research and
policy issues in the region of Central and Eastern
Europe.
The position under offer is primarily a research
position. The successful candidate will be expected to
show a good research record and experience in, or
willingness to develop an interest in the policy
implications of research. In addition to research
duties, the successful candidate will be expected to
participate in the building of the CPS into a center
of excellence in research and teaching, to be actively
involved in obtaining external funding for research
and to contribute to the management of an affiliated
fellowship program.
Applications are invited from any of the relevant
disciplines of social science and law. A doctorate, or
equivalent research experience is required, together
with excellent English, oral and written. Knowledge of
a language of the region would be an asset, but it is
not essential. Applications are encouraged from
researchers in the earlier stages of their careers,
although the position may be filled at a more senior
level. Salaries will be in accordance with the
standards of the Central European University. For
