Members may be interested in National Learning Network (NLN) materials being
developed for use in FE colleges. NLN is looking for Quality Assessors.
On the NLN website http://www.nln.ac.uk there is a Materials button which takes
you to a login page - there is an option to choose from a list of FE colleges,
but anyone can register to look at the materials on the site.
The learning materials are small interactive chunks or episodes of learning
lasting from between 15-30 minutes, including some audio. The Notes for Tutors
in each subject provide ideas on how to integrate them into existing courses.
The materials have been designed to run in a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
so using them on the website will only give you limited functionality. For
instance, test results won't be saved and your progress won't be tracked.
At the moment there are only a few examples, but it does include a tutorial on
Application of Number: Reading Pie Charts
