Technical logistics
It would be useful if speakers could provide us with their presentations
and any other material that could be put on the web site in advance of
their talk. These should be sent to myself, Mark Hayes
([log in to unmask]) by 5pm on Wednesday.
There will be a limited number of terminals provided outside the
meeting room for checking email etc.
We also plan to provide wireless network connectivity at Robinson College.
Attendees wishing to make use of this should bring their own wireless card
and be prepared to tell us its hardware ethernet (or MAC) address. (Use
ifconfig under unix/linux, ipconfig in a DOS box under Windows or the
Apple System Profiler under MacOS. Note that this is not your IP address,
but a string of six hex numbers in the format xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx)
It would be most efficient if you can let me know this (by email to
[log in to unmask]) by 5pm on Wednesday.
We are looking at the possibility of providing a RealVideo stream of
the event, with a conference telephone for two-way communication with
remote participants. More details to follow early next week.
We look forward to seeing you in Cambridge!
Best wishes,
Mark Hayes (on behalf of the local management committee)
