Subject: login problems
-----------------------------------------------------
Hi,
I'm having problems using EDMS..
I have an account 'gmccance' on the Datagrid WP2 group..
When logging in recently, I get 'login expired' message after logging in
and cannot continue. Also, the public documents - i get 'computer id has
changed, please re-login'..
tried scrubbing all my cookies, etc..
maybe it's because i access via an http proxy at the moment?
what am i doing wrong?
cheers,
gav
SOLUTION : Hello ,
This is a known problem.
The source of it is the following: between each Web page, EDMS checks
whether the identity
of the client computer (yours) remains the same or not. If not, EDMS
assumes that someone
is trying to "steal" your connection, in other words to hack your EDMS
session. Then it
displays the message you obtained.
This may mean that you have been under a hacker attack or, very more
probably, that
your Internet provider uses different servers: it used one server for
serving you the login page,
then another one for serving you the home page.
What to do ?
Use a direct connection to Internet, bypassing server proxies.
If using Netscape, do the following:
- in the "Edit" menu, click "Preferences"
- expand the "Advanced" node
- click 'Proxies"
- select "Direct connection to the Internet"
For other browsers please contact your local support.
If this does not work, you may consider chossing another provider...
I hope this helps. If not, please do not hesitate to contact
[log in to unmask] again !
Best regards,
Tomasz Ladzinski
