First of all create a thresholded version of your image using ImCalc (eg, for
a threshold of 3, use "i1.*(i1>3)" ).
Display the "background" image using the <Display> button, and then type the
following into Matlab and select the thresholded image you hae just created:
spm_orthviews('addimage', 1, spm_get(1,'*.img'));
For a different representation, you could try:
spm_orthviews('addcolouredimage', 1, spm_get(1,'*.img'), [1 0 0]);
