As I understand it, Sanjay's software emulates other isovist polygon
construction tools such as Omnivista and Spatialist by working with line
intersection tests (please correct me if I'm wrong, Sanjay).
By contrast, it sounds like Bernhard is trying to look at the properties of
viewsheds here. In which case there is work by people such as Marcos
Llobera, see : Llobera, M, 1996, "Exploring the topography of the mind:
GIS, social space and archaeology".
In addition O'Sullivan and I took up VGA properties in landscapes briefly
-- where we took graph measures of clustering coefficient and mean shortest
path length and applied them to landscapes. It sounds as if you are
already doing this! Of course, there are many other graph properties that
could be examined in viewshed analysis.
Specifically for your application to viewsheds, you might find centre of
gravity, distance of centre of gravity from viewpoint (I think what Sheep
and Ruth Conroy call drift?) and moment of inertia, than other
Benedikt-style measures such circularity, which apply to single isovist
polygons rather than viewsheds.
